Jaime Saavedra is the former head of the World Bank’s Global Education Practice (2016 to 2023) and the current World Bank Director of Human Development for Latin America and the Caribbean. In his three years as Education Minister of Peru (2013 to 2016), he oversaw wholesale reform of the school system leading to remarkable performance improvements. See his bio here.
