Michael Spence, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, is Professor of Economics, Emeritus and former Dean of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He chaired the Commission on Growth and Development, an international body of 22 policymakers, academics and business leaders that from 2006 to 2010 analysed opportunities for global economic growth.
