CDE’s Ann Bernstein spoke to Stephen Grootes of Newzroom Afrika to discuss South Africa’s shockingly high unemployment rate which currently stands at 34.9%, while the expanded unemployment rate is now at 46,6%. She argued, “If you look at the facts of this, if you are a young person aged 15 to 34 in South Africa today, you’re about 61% unemployed. This is no country for young people, but why is the cabinet and the President not doing something? It’s time for a fundamental rethink.”
