Ann Bernstein, executive director of the Centre for Development and Enterprise, spoke to Gugulethu Mfuphi on Kaya Biz where she called on political decision-makers who believe in the constitution, the rule of law and deepening economic reform to put the country ahead of narrow interests. This is in the midst of South Africa’s political leaders being locked in multi-sided negotiations about who will form the next government. She said “While CDE shares South Africans’ hopes and anxieties about this, we are convinced that the success of any new government will depend on its policies, not just on who is in power.”
