Sharing her views about Government’s efforts to revive the economy since the Covid 19 pandemic with Newzroom Afrika’s Cathy Mohlahlana, CDE’s Ann Bernstein argues that South African economy can only recover, create jobs, and brand the country’s investment outlook if the government and business can find mutual ground. “South Africa has created a welfare State, which I am in favour of, but you need a thriving economy to pay for that. Our objective should not be to get more and more people getting money from the State, but to get more and more people weaned off that system and being self-sufficient,” she said.
