CDE pushes for judicial enquiry into NPA’s failure to prosecute major corruption
Speaking on eNCA’s South Africa tonight CDE executive director Ann Bernstein has urged President Cyril Ramaphosa to appoint a retired judge to conduct an enquiry into the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). She cites the NPA’s underwhelming performance in prosecuting major corruption cases saying “it’s important that not one high profile political person has been successfully prosecuted” and also outlines the concerns and the urgent need for this inquiry. This interview comes after the release of CDE’s new Agenda2024 report, ACTION FIVE: Energise the NPA.
