Ann Bernstein, executive director of the Centre for Development and Enterprise (CDE), talked SABC News through the opportunities and priority areas facing South Africa. Bernstein recently launched CDE’s AGENDA 2024, a project outlining the five urgent priority areas that the new government, once established, needs to focus on in its first 180 days in office. She stressed the importance of good leadership and a change in the Cabinet, saying “We need to take some pretty drastic decisions on how to get a much more effective Cabinet organised around the priorities of the next government to actually get results.” CDE will be releasing reports on various catalytic actions within the five priority areas in the coming weeks.”
