CDE’s Ann Bernstein spoke to Metro Fm’s Siphesihle ‘Sphectacula’ Ngwenya and Lebogang ‘DJ Naves’ Naves about densification as one of the solutions to solving South Africa’s housing problem. “There’s about 23% of our population living in informal settlements and we need to upgrade those as soon as possible, which is part of the solution. We have an enormous opportunity in the cities and metros where we already have about 4,5 million detached private houses and there’s a lot of land for densification,” she said.
